Roundhay Church Leeds
CDM Site Security Setup
Goals: Conservation Protection, Community Safety, Strategic Access Control
Work: Implemented Comprehensive Site Security Setup
Achieved: Enhanced Safety and Access Control, Preserved Conservation Area
We have recently implemented a CDM (Construction Design and Management) site security setup at a historic church in Roundhay, Leeds. This project aimed to safeguard the conservation area, protect the community, and provide strategic access control, ensuring a safe environment surrounding the building.
PROJECT GOALS
Conservation Protection: To preserve the historical and architectural integrity of the church and its surrounding conservation area during ongoing construction and renovation activities.
Community Safety: To ensure the safety of the local community by mitigating risks associated with construction work and preventing unauthorized access to the site.
Strategic Access Control: To implement a robust access control system that allows authorized personnel to enter the site while keeping unauthorized individuals out, thereby maintaining a secure environment.
PROJECT EXECUTION
Planning and Permitting: Before initiating any security measures, we collaborated with local authorities and historical preservation societies to obtain the necessary permits and approvals. A comprehensive security plan was developed, outlining the strategic placement of security features and protocols.
Perimeter Security: To secure the perimeter of the historic church, we installed temporary fencing and barriers that blend with the aesthetic of the conservation area. These barriers were designed to prevent unauthorized access while maintaining the visual appeal of the historic site.
Access Control Systems: We implemented advanced access control systems at entry and exit points. This included electronic gates with keycard access, biometric scanners, and surveillance cameras to monitor and regulate site entry. These systems ensured that only authorized personnel could access the site, enhancing security and accountability.
Surveillance and Monitoring: High-definition CCTV cameras were strategically placed around the site to provide continuous surveillance. These cameras were monitored in real-time from a central control room, allowing for immediate response to any security breaches or safety concerns.
Safety Signage and Lighting: To enhance visibility and safety, we installed adequate lighting around the site, particularly in areas with high foot traffic. Clear and informative safety signage was placed at key points to guide visitors and workers, ensuring they are aware of restricted areas and safety protocols.
Community Liaison: We established a communication plan to keep the local community informed about the ongoing security measures and construction activities. Regular updates and meetings with community representatives ensured transparency and addressed any concerns promptly.
