Spot White West

Goals: The objective was to create a state-of-the-art snooker bar that would stand out in Newcastle's vibrant nightlife scene. The client envisioned a modern, stylish, and functional space that could accommodate snooker enthusiasts while providing a commercial kitchen and a 14-meter bar experience.

Work: This was a full-service job, with demolition, construction, custom joinery works, electrical works, fixtures and fittings, commercial kitchen fitting, and a full M+E package.

Achievements: The new pool and snooker bar is ready and open to the public - we ensured the project was delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

DEMOLITION

The project commenced with a comprehensive demolition phase, involving the careful deconstruction of the existing interior. This step was critical to ensure a safe and clean slate for the new construction work. The demolition included removing old partitions, flooring, ceiling tiles, and obsolete M&E installations.

CONSTRUCTION

Post-demolition, the construction phase began with reinforcing the building's structural integrity. This included installing new partitions, ceilings, and flooring. High-quality materials were chosen to ensure durability and aesthetics. The construction team worked diligently to create a seamless blend of modern design and functionality, perfect for a vibrant snooker bar environment.

CUSTOM JOINERY WORKS

One of the standout features of the project was the custom joinery works. Our team of skilled craftsmen designed and built bespoke snooker tables, bar counters, seating, and shelving units. Each piece was tailored to fit the unique layout and theme of the bar, using premium materials to ensure longevity and a high-end finish. The joinery not only enhanced the visual appeal but also optimized the space for both patrons and staff.

ELECTRICAL WORKS

A new electrical feed was established to support the increased power demands of the bar. The entire building was re-wired to meet current safety standards and ensure reliable electrical performance. This included installing state-of-the-art lighting systems, power outlets, and emergency lighting. Special attention was given to creating an ambiance with dimmable lights and strategically placed fixtures to highlight key areas.

FIXTURES AND FITTINGS

Selecting and installing the right fixtures and fittings were crucial to achieving the desired atmosphere. We sourced high-quality furnishings, including stylish bar stools, comfortable seating, and decorative lighting fixtures. The fittings were chosen to complement the custom joinery and overall design theme, ensuring a cohesive and inviting environment for guests.

COMMERCIAL KITCHEN AND EXTRACTION

The commercial kitchen was designed to cater to a diverse menu, with a focus on efficiency and compliance with health and safety regulations. We installed industrial-grade kitchen appliances, stainless steel worktops, and storage solutions. A state-of-the-art extraction system was put in place to maintain air quality and ensure proper ventilation, essential for both the kitchen and the dining areas.

FULL M&E PACKAGE

The mechanical and electrical (M&E) package was comprehensive, covering heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing systems. Our in-house team installed energy-efficient HVAC systems to maintain optimal temperature and air quality throughout the bar. Plumbing works included installing new water lines, drainage systems, and restrooms equipped with modern sanitary ware.

MANAGEMENT

Our comprehensive project and site management service encompassed overseeing all aspects of health and safety, ensuring compliance with building control regulations, and coordinating with architects. By developing a thorough health and safety plan, liaising with building control authorities to secure necessary permits, and collaborating closely with architects to maintain design integrity, we ensured the project was delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
